Blowing pretty bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air, they fly so high, almost reach the sky...can't remember the rest of the words. Very nice work, Oliviah. :-)

Hi, Oliviah, you know what? Terry Duff is quite right - there is something always uplifting about seeing your avatar.
After yesterday's French (which was nice, BTW), i'm tempted to write the Portguese original words to "Girl From Ipanema" today.
But I won't, 'cos I have no time. However, are these the bubbles that I'm always blowing? I wonder... True, they fly so high, nearly reach the sky, but unlike the song, they don't fade & die.
Great to see you more regularly. A good sign.
Take this: ((((((((O))))))))

No wonder I forgot that part! Far too depressing. Your bubbles will endure, Oliviah. :-)

Autumn, I don't think I've ever heard that song, maybe I can find it on youtube. :)

Icarus, I haven't ever heard the song "Girl From Ipanema" either and I think I will see if google will show me the lyrics.

I am glad you have enjoyed the bubbles.

Morning, Olivah, And A.S,
If that is so, then on both counts, they are holes that must be filled in your musical luggage:
First the song that Autmn & I both refer to:
"I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", it is sweet & I'm guessing is at least 90 years old, if not 100. Like me.
Second "The Girl From ipanema/A Moça de Ipanema", creamy, cool, sensual, marks the arrival into the world of THAT sound of Rio de Janeiro, Bossa Nova. The creation of João Gilberto, the version from the album with Stan Getz, sung by Joã's wife, Astrid is the one that everybody best knows, over 40 years on.
"Tall & tan & young & lovely,
The girl from Ipanema goes walking,
And as she passes,
each boy she passes goes: Aaaaaah!".
Ipanema is a beach district of Rio. Enough said. Go find!!

Hope you are very fine,

SXXX

I see the bubbles in my champagne glass, the one I am lifting in your honor and I see you smiling back with your glass in hand just before our glasses clink. We take a sip and toss them over our shoulders. May I have this dance my most beautiful one?

Icarus, ah, thank you for filling in the musical gaps--it would be a sad day indeed if the musical world was limited to my own. ;) Many hugs to you.

Trée, with pleasure. What a beautifully romantic mind you have. Not to mention fun. ;)

I think they remind me of clear pearls. And btw - I love the song "Girl from Impanema"... I used to have it on an accordian record. Lovely.
