a notion

I was thinking about making another blog solely to post Apophysis parameters on so that people can use them and tweak their hearts out. I think it might be especially fun for people who are new to Apophysis. What do you think? I am not sure how I should do it. Maybe post fractals, then put their parameters in the comment section? The parameters take up a lot of room, I think they would look lousy on the page itself. Any ideas?

Oliviah, not sure about posting parameters but I would love to see the basic settings you use for the images. If you are like me, you don't aways keep track of every little detail of creating an image. I see many of your images and wonder how you did what you did. I think anything that helps all of us create more skillful images helps everyone. My two cents. :-)

You can certainly post parameters / tricks / tips. You might want to take a look at the forum before you do though as people do post parameters here. Of course the forum and a "parameter blog" are not mutually exclusive:

It all depends on how much time you have on your hands :)

Olivia I would love just a web site explaining how to use the program. I am just going to download it today. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..

I'm not sure about posting parameters either. I found reading the basic tutorial when I downloaded the program most helpful. I also read the 'help' feature that accompanies the program. That really helps also.

But I still just keep clicking away just to see what results I get. It's totally random, and usually yields the best results!

Once the basics are understood, one's own creativity takes over. But I do agree with Trée, anything the helps all of us create more skillful images, would be wonderful. Thanks Oliviah!

You know that mine are all random, as I haven't read the tut's or helps, but sometimes I would like to get to a certain type of, style, so I would be interested.

Hmm...I think I should shelf this idea, for now anyway. The link Dzeni gave sounds great:

I have trouble with tutorials of comprehension skill damage. Bits & pieces at a time, that is how I learn. Most everything I make is so random, just like daddyjarbucks said. And like Trée, I don't keep track of the details of creating them...(mostly because I think it would be impossible) Short of sending parameters, I am not sure how to "show" anyone how I made any of them.

Thanks Dzeni, I think you sent us in a good direction.

Sherri, yay! I think you will love Apophysis!
